BODY - BREATH - BALANCE

Yama is the first limb of yoga, the first step on the yogic path as described by the sage Patanjali, thousands of years ago, in the sacred yogic text, The Yoga Sutras.
At Yama Yoga, the aim is to transmit the teachings of yoga asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathwork) and philosophy in a way that is easily understood, with loving-kindness, to aid the body, mind and spirit.  
The style of teaching in these classes is grounded in the belief that yoga is a tool to support one’s life.  Taking one hour a day for ourselves is such a treasure in today’s hectic and pressure filled society. These moments are to be enjoyed and are an opportunity to grow on an internal personal level, as well as improve one’s physical body, building core strength, flexibility, stamina, and ultimately, health.

YOGA FUNDAMENTALS CLASS
For Beginners/Improvers
Class focus is on building/re-building core strength, increasing flexibility and stability, breathwork and relaxation techniques. Also suitable for athletes/sports people to increase flexibility and improve core stability

When: Each MONDAY 550-650pm, from September 13
Where: Wine Street Wellness Centre, Sligo 
Cost: Six-week course is €60 - drop-ins not advised for beginners.


DYNAMIC VINYASA YOGA
For students with yoga experience
Based on the ashtanga system, the focus is on building core strength, increasing stamina and flexibility and exploring the physical yoga practise. This is a dynamic, challenging and fun class – but it is NOT SUITABLE for beginners. 

When: Each MONDAY 650 - 810pm, from September 13
Where: Wine Street Wellness Centre, Sligo 
Cost: Six-week course is €70; Drop-in rate €13 (if space is available - please contact teacher in advance)

STRESS-LESS YOGA
For ALL levels, including beginner
This is a very gentle class – the focus is on restorative yoga asana (postures); breathwork and relaxation techniques. The class is designed to promote stress relief, relaxation and a sense of calm. The class is suitable for all levels, even for those with no yoga experience. As well as your sticky yoga mat, bring a blanket/towel and a cushion

When: Each MONDAY 815-910pm, from September 13
Where: Wine Street Wellness Centre, Sligo 
Cost: Six-week course is €60 - drop-ins not advised for beginners



Over the coming weeks and months Yama Yoga will be offering additional workshops and classes including Pregnancy Yoga; Surfers Yoga Clinics and morning classes.

Private Individual or Group Tuition in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga for Sports also available.
